M.I.A- Fanfiction drop out?

It’s been over a year since I updated my fan fiction, and I feel terrible about it.

I know what you’re thinking. Why am I on this, writing rubbish then?

The fact is my brain is creatively exhausted. I have ‘Not the only one’ all planned out, as well as my other crossover fic which I’ve not posted, called ‘Chained to You’. I’ve started countless one shots, and even dipped in other fandoms, like the Korean drama ‘You’re Beautiful’ and Phantom of the Opera. But I’ve not posted anything.

The problem is, I have to write so much on demand for my uni course that writing for pleasure and publishing online can no longer be. I’m fixated now with constantly making my writing better, whereas before writing was simply an escape from reality, and to be quite honest, to see how many reviews I could get. I started writing fanfiction at fourteen years old. Now I am twenty, and have adult responsibilities, such as bills, to deal with.

Now that I consider myself a serious writer and see it as my future career path, I’m wary of posting anything online without the proper editing I usually undertake. If only there was a way of seamlessly transmitting all my ideas onto my laptop, ready-made and ready to post!

Everyone has been so patient and I’m very grateful for all the understanding reviews I’ve had. My days are divided between uni, tutoring, work and the small slice of socialising I can fit to keep myself sane. I’m sadly drifting away from fan fiction in an attempt to find my own true voice and original stories. That’s not to say I’m leaving fan fiction- I’m nowhere near done with it yet. All I’m saying is updates will be gradual, and I’ll no longer promise updates by such and such date, because I hate disappointing myself and also you.

For those interested, the next chapter of Not the Only One is 1/3 done…but I can honestly say I don’t know when I’m next going to get a chance to look at it. Hopefully the Christmas holidays.

Hajimemashite…

So, it’s nearly 12:40 and I’m up late because I slept until 11pm this afternoon. I’ve been studying most of the day, finally finished my creative writing exam which I’ve to hand in on Fri. I’ve got politics on the 14th of May, followed by history on the 15th, english on the 19th and journalism on the 28th.

Role on June ! ^^;

Just watched Twilight again, but with the commentary with Kristen, Robert and Catherine. Was quite funny, Kristen being too modest and Rob bashing himself too much! Really can’t wait for New Moon ^^

I think I’ll mainly be using this blog to update my fan fiction writers, but we’ll see how it goes…

More studying tomorrow, then working 5.30-8pm. Can’t wait for Fri, day off and seeing the bf! ^^
